NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water

The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) works to protect the state’s environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change, driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.

DCCEEW is also NSW's lead flood risk management (FRM) agency. The lead FRM agency provides councils with specialist technical support and financial assistance to manage flood risk in communities. It also works with other agencies to ensure flood risk is considered in decisions on activities that influence increases or reductions in flood risk to communities.
