The following report has been prepared in an effort to compile as much information as possible regarding the investigations which have been carried out into the resources of the Shoalhaven River Basin.

Surveys were being carried out on the Shoalhaven Catchment as early as 1892, and the report prepared in 1913 by William Corin, M. Inst. C.E., M. I.E.E. , &c . is included in this document.

Sections of the report are not applicable , especially those on costs; but the whole report is included as an introduction to demonstrate the trend of thought on the importance of this River even 50 years ago.
