Sandy Place Long Beach Bateman's Bay - Flood Study Calculations

The Department has examined aspects of flooding and ocean influences as requested by Council.

In consideration of the above matters it is emphasised that regular maintenance of the existing culverts across Sandy Place and channels is necessary to minimise the impact of flooding. This would equally apply should Council decide to install a larger culvert and carry out channel improvements. The level of the beach over which the stormwater discharges should be similarly monitored to ensure that floodwaters can easily drain and not be retained by the beach berm. This observation could be carried out during regular culvert maintenance.
