North Byron Shire Flood Study

The primary objective of the North Byron Shire Flood Study is to examine and define the flood behaviour of the North Byron Shire area, including Brunswick River, Marshalls Creek and Simpsons Creek. The findings will form the basis for the subsequent Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan. These objectives are:

  1. Compilation and review of available information;
  2. Acquisition of additional data, including resident survey to determine nature and extent of historical flooding;
  3. Development of hydrological and hydraulic models;
  4. Calibration and verification of models;
  5. Modelling of design events under existing conditions; and
  6. Reporting and mapping.

This report describes the calibration and verification of the hydrologic and hydraulic models that have been developed.
