Nambucca Shire Council - Compilation of Flood Marks, Rainfall Data and Observed Flood Behaviour for the March/April Flood Event of 2009

The 5 floods that hit the Nambucca Valley in 2009 saw the local rivers and waterways rise significantly; however the exact height of these flood levels was initially unknown. The SES engaged a consultant to prepare a report to compile and reference all flood intelligence and data from the March/April flood event. The flood data compilation focused on the Nambucca Floodplain from Bowraville to the ocean, Warrell Creek from Warrell Creek village to the confluence of the Nambucca River and the Deep Creek catchment. Some of the more severely affected areas of Nambucca Shire after the storm event were, Browns Crossing Road, Scotts Head Road (under the Pacific Highway bridge), Barbers Flats on Scotts Head Road, Partridge Street in Macksville, Sullivans Road, Warrell Creek, Deep Creek bridge, Lanes bridge, the Valla Caravan Park, and in a low lying area along Wilson Road.
