Murray Downs Flood Study

The Murray Downs Flood Study has been undertaken to provide the Wakool Shire Council and other stakeholders with an up to date understanding of Murray River flood risks at Murray Downs. This will assist Council and other government agencies to make appropriate decisions in relation to future land use planning and also provide the basis from which to proceed with the development of a floodplain risk management study and plan to mitigate flood risks. The study was undertaken in seven stages:

  1. Data collection
  2. Hydrology
  3. Preliminary hydraulic modelling
  4. Final hydraulic modelling and related tasks
  5. Draft flood study report
  6. Final flood study report
  7. Project completion and handover of study materials.
