Macquarie Marshes - Flora and Fauna of the Macquarie Marshes Region

"Data on flora and fauna species were collated at a regional scale for use in the Central West Catchment Action Plan. The Macquarie Marshes region encompasses land within three 1:100000 scale topographic map sheets and has an area of 366,200 hectares.

Since 1996, eight properties have been extensively surveyed within the region. Additional records were made from a further seven properties. Within each property the survey effort was directed at vertebrate fauna within the major vegetation communities / alliances present. The overall aim was to survey the vegetation types most representative of the Macquarie Marshes region from which landholders can then determine what wildlife they may have present on their own properties."
