Hunter River Flood Report 1955

The Hunter River and tributary streams, comprising Omadale, Moonan, Stewarts and Rouchel Brooks, find their source on the western fringe of the Mount Royal Range which has an altitude of over 5,000 feet above sea level. These streams have similar characteristics - are narrow with steep channels and flow through precipitous mountain slopes to the undulating valley of the Upper Hunter River.
