Review of Lagoon Entrance Modelling for Flood Studies

Four lagoons within the Gosford City Council precinct were studied to determine flood levels. Hydraulic models were generated for each of the following:

  • Avoca Lagoon
  • Cockrone Lagoon
  • Terrigal Lagoon
  • Wamberal Lagoon

Different approaches were used. MIKE11 was used as a dambreak module for the "erodible dam" beach berms which rapidly erode during break out. RUBICON was used treating the beaches as an erodible channel.
