Deep Creek Flood Study

Deep Creek is located on the NSW north coast within the Nambucca Shire Council area. Deep Creek outflows to the ocean at Valla. The creek has a catchment area of 92 square kilometres. The upstream reaches of the catchment are steep. The lower reaches are relatively flat. This report details the investigations, results and findings of the Flood Study. The key elements of which include:

  • a summary of available data,
  • hydrologic and hydraulic model development,
  • calibration of the hydraulic model, and
  • definition of the design flood behaviour through the analysis and interpretation of model results, and
  • entrance behaviour and system flushing characteristics.
