Debris Control Screens for Whartons Creek, Farrahars Creek and Bellambi Gully, Wollongong - Concept Design Report

Wollongong City Council (Council) has commissioned Royal HaskoningDHV (RHDHV) to investigate and develop concept designs and an economic business case for four (4) Debris Control Screens (DCS). The purpose of the debris control screens is to reduce the potential for significant culvert blockage causing increased flooding of property and infrastructure.

This report details the investigations undertaken to determine the potential impact and benefit of the proposed screens and documents the preferred concept design for each screen. Council provided LiDAR, topographic survey and existing TUFLOW and XP-RAFTS models to enable RHDHV to undertake hydraulic assessment and conceptual design of proposed debris control screens.
