Flood study

Bungambrawatha Creek, Lavington, South Albury and West Albury Flood Study

The study objective was to define flood behaviour in the catchments of Bungambrawatha Creek, Lavington, South Albury and West Albury for flood frequencies ranging between 5 and 500 year average recurrence interval, as well as for the Probable Maximum Flood. The flood study has three components:

  • Review of available hydrologic and hydraulic data and previous investigations.
  • A hydrologic component which included preparation of the hydrologic model of the study catchments.
  • A hydraulic component which comprised the preparation and testing of hydraulic models of the main streams and floodplain areas.
