Bega and Brogo Rivers Floodplain Risk Management Study

The study area is located within the Bega Valley Shire local government area (LGA) on the South Coast of NSW, approximately 80 km from the Victorian border. The total catchment area of the two river systems is 1,810 square kilometres at the confluence at Bega, of which the Bega River contributes 1,030 square kilometres, and the Brogo River 780 square kilometres. The objective of this report is to provide details of the following:

  • Determination of flood damages;
  • Classification of flood hazard and hydraulic categories; and
  • Development and assessment of flood mitigation options.
